JOHN SMITH

⭐️ THE ALTER EGO ⭐️
- Billionaire philanthropist by day, and the superhero known as "Homelander" by night.
Anyone who's anyone knows who John Smith is — he's one of the richest men on Earth, and a regular fixture of the rumor mill, vaulted there by his wealth, the revolving door of his relationships, and the aura of tragedy and mystery around him thanks to the death (murder, some say) of his wife some years ago.
BACKSTORY:
John Smith wasn't born with a silver spoon in his mouth, but you could say he received it shortly thereafter. Born to a single mother who died in childbirth, he was adopted into the ultra-wealthy Smith family before he even turned one, to be raised in the most loving home a boy could hope for.
His life has been pretty unremarkable since, filled with the typical trappings of privilege, from an Ivy League education to positions on the boards of museums and charities. He's a model citizen. Pay no mind to the fact that the vigilante hero known as "Homelander" started picking up heat not too long after his wife's death about a decade ago.

RUMORS:
⭐️ Nobody knows exactly how his wife died. All anyone knows is that he completely changed the direction of his company afterward, pivoting from commerce to philanthropy and public service, and that he's never been the same, since.
⭐️ He's never ended a relationship on bad terms, per se, but he seems incapable of maintaining a romantic relationship. Who knows, maybe you'll be the one to change all that!
⭐️ While he and Anora were dating, he produced once of her movies. Mind you, not helped to produce. He funded the whole fucking thing.
⭐️ People expected an engagement when he rented the entire Aman Tokyo for a two-week stay. She left with a new ring on every finger but her ring finger.
⭐️ A Washington Post journalist claimed to have seem him stop a four-man robbery on his own, and that he caught a bullet in his bare hand.
⭐️ He disappeared for thirty minutes during a Golden Globes telecast. When he reappeared, there was a red stain on his collar. No one could agree whether it was lipstick or blood.
⭐️ His single, five-second appearance on Keeping Up With the Atreides generated a media storm that lasted for weeks. He was there ostensibly to help celebrate Alia's birthday. People say he looked at Jessica more, instead.
⭐️ He doesn't really "do" social media. They say that Alia Atreides' feed is the only one he appears on for free.
⭐️ He's been seen getting dinner with Greer Galloway at least once every few months. There's a rumor in Washington that their parents wanted to set them up. For how close they seem, no one can really account for why it never happened. Asked once in a Vogue interview, all John said that it was just a matter of timing.
⭐️ The foundation he runs with Hawkins Fuller is the first venture he came in on at the ground floor. He calls Hawk his good luck charm. Someone once asked if he'd ever keep any secrets from his friend. He smiled and laughed it off.
⭐️ Rumor has it that John is the one who connected Shanks with the producers of his new documentary — as well as the event planners running wild over a certain ceremony occurring later in the month.
⭐️ His son Travis goes everywhere he goes. He claims it's a habit he picked up from his parents, to help ensure a family stays close.
⭐️ He shows up to every single one of Travis' games. He hasn't missed a single one.
⭐️ The Smith Corporation has offices all over the world. Weirdly, some of them seem to sit empty, but he visits them anyway.
⭐️ When he first took Nami under his wing, he took her to Van Cleef and Arpels, and bought her every piece in the shop with even the faintest hint of orange in it.
⭐️ He once showed up to a vote of no confidence with a black eye and visible bruises. When he left the office, he was still CEO, and the board had been entirely replaced.
